Hello Everyone,
Our CC community meeting is tomorrow at 2:00 PM UTC, which happens to
also be 10 AM EDT and is also known as 10PM CST.
Since our first release is in the near near near future, we will spend
as much time as we need going through updates on it and closing any gaps
that are still open. We will also take some time to focus on
documentation and revisit some of the work on the trust model, which we
are hoping to include in the first release.
As usual feel free to add more topics to the agenda. [1]
These are such exciting times for our project.
See you soon,
Tobin

Greetings cool cats & kittens,
Thanks to the momentum that you have all created with Kata Containers, the community has been invited by Boston University to participate in a mentorship program centered around the Kata Containers project. The program is part of a senior-level capstone class where a team of 5 students, guided by mentors from various open source projects, collaborate for 5-8 hours a week to learn about new OSS technologies.
More about the course & how the mentorship program is structured can be read here: [ 2022-fall-cloud ]( https://zaoxing.github.io/teaching/2022-fall-cloud )
To get to the point, I am looking for 2 or 3 volunteers willing to volunteer a few hours per week to act as mentors & provide technical guidance for student mentees.
I've started the process of building a project proposal on ether pad, which can be viewed at the following link: [ https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/BU22-kata-containers ]( https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/BU22-kata-containers )
As this is an open community, you are all welcome to make edits as you see fit in addition to (please) signing up for the mentor list. This opportunity is open to ALL of the community regardless of geographical location. If you are interested, please add your name to the Etherpad above.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or feedback, or if you have suggestions on other similar programs that you would like to see Kata Containers involved with. Thank you all for being awesome. Have an amazing week.
Regards,

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to provide an update on the October Project Teams Gathering (PTG).
After discussing with community members and prospective sponsors, we have
made the decision to pivot the event to 100% virtual to be as inclusive as
possible.
I know that this is not the ideal outcome and there are a lot of factors
contributing to this decision, but we think it’s the best decision for the
global community at this time. We are continuing to receive feedback on the
value and importance of in-person PTGs; we just need to wait for other
factors to be less of an obstacle
If you have already registered, you should have been contacted for a full
refund.
We are going to use the same week for a virtual PTG and it will be free to
attend, just like the previous ones. The registration is already live [1].
If you have any questions or feedback on this decision, please let us know.
We will continue to monitor feedback as we make plans for a 2023 PTG.
Thank you,
Kendall (diablo_rojo)

Dear all,
I have been informed by our security Dasboard that there are outdated versions of kata containers runtime in my environment.
Unfortunately the dashboard is so useless, it does not offer information which software ships with kata contaienrs runtime bundled.
Are there any ways to idetify the software that is incorporating kata containers?
Currently it seems tob e installed on 1 quarter of my client base which totals up to roughly 200 windows clients.
