Renaming to "kata-discuss"?
Hi Kata crew, A while back there was some discussion about renaming this list to “kata-discuss” and having it be broader topics than just development discussions. We were about to make a mailing list for community and advocacy work, but rather than segregate that work (and the people working on those things), it seems better to have a single list (“kata-discuss”) and use the subject line to let people filter through the messages that are most relevant to them (I’d suggest using brackets with the topic area in front of the subject, ie “[advocacy] Container Camp UK sessions” and “[dev] Review needed on PR #305”). How does that sound? Anne Bertucio OpenStack Foundation anne@openstack.org | irc: annabelleB
It’s OK by me. I suspect most of the same people are involved on most of the topics anyhow. I agree that having multiple lists that are quite low traffic would just be a bit annoying, and I suspect many folks would only subscribe to one or two and then miss out on some items. I’m going to guess that the top [prefixes] might fall by the wayside quite quickly – we’ll see ☺ Graham From: Anne Bertucio [mailto:anne@openstack.org] Sent: Tuesday, August 14, 2018 6:16 PM To: kata-dev@lists.katacontainers.io Subject: [kata-dev] Renaming to "kata-discuss"? Apparently this is not as simple as a task as just editing the name field (have to redirect some mail servers and such), so our infra team is on it, but in the mean time I’m going to encourage the working committee crew to use this mailing list, so expect (and please join in!!) some of those discussions to hit this list.
