Following on this, I have asked Michael Crosby (containerd maintainer and writer of this proposal) to join our Architecture Committee meeting to talk about his proposal. He agreed very quickly and he's very interested in sharing this with us since it's intended to facilitate things for VM based container runtimes like Kata. He's going to present the rationales behind this proposal and demo a few functionalities on Monday July 9th at 8AM PST (usual meeting time). Please try to join this meeting as he expects as much feedback as possible to guide him through this, making sure Kata could be a first class citizen of this API. This API is specifically targeted at enabling VM-based runtimes, so I wanted to make sure folks in the Kata community have a chance to review it and ensure it is a good (compatible) match for the current Kata runtime APIs. https://github.com/containerd/containerd/issues/2426 Thanks!
