I wonder if this cannot be deduced from "area" in most cases?
I had thought about this. However, I don't think its necessarily obvious for newcomers that a label like "area/runtime" equates to "lang/go". Also, there are the awkward scenarios like issues raised against "area/agent" which actually refer to makefile changes rather than rust. It's a balancing act, but I think having the ability to (optionally) label an issue for a particular skillset makes those tasks more discoverable for newcomers. In fact, we could just use these new labels for "good-first-issue" issues maybe.
