Hello Kata Community, On behalf of Alex Lyn, Steve Horsman and myself, Ildiko Vancsa, as the approved election officials, it's a pleasure to announce that the "Candidate nomination period" for the Kata Containers Architecture Committee[1] elections[3] is now closed. As it's been shared, we have 3 open AC positions and we've received 4 nominations[2] from eligible candidates: * Aurélien Bombo: https://github.com/kata-containers/community/blob/main/elections/arch-commit... * Fupan Li: https://github.com/kata-containers/community/blob/main/elections/arch-commit... * Greg Kurz: https://github.com/kata-containers/community/blob/main/elections/arch-commit... * Wainer dos Santos Moschetta: https://github.com/kata-containers/community/blob/main/elections/arch-commit... __The Q&A/Debate period is already open!__ The community is encouraged to submit questions via the election officials and etherpad at [4] - get your thinking caps on now in preparation... we shall then filter, review, and choose a set of suitable questions for the candidates. To kick off the debate period, I’m sharing the first question: What is the most important thing (be it an integration, a particular feature, adopting a policy, etc) Kata Containers needs to achieve in the next year and how should we get there? The remaining timeline for the election process is: * October 15, 15:00 UTC - October 22, 2024 14:59 UTC: Q&A/Debate period * October 22, 15:00 UTC - October 29, 2024 14:59 UTC: Voting open * October 29, 2024, results announced A reminder on who can vote: Anyone who has had a commit merged into the project in the last 12 months will be eligible to vote. All eligible voters will receive an email with a link to the voting system once the voting period opens. __IMPORTANT__: __To receive the voting ballot from CIVS: you must opt-in to receiving email communications from CIVS.__ __This step needs to be completed BEFORE the polling starts on November 15.__ More information and the form to do so can be found at https://civs1.civs.us/cgi-bin/opt_in.pl Please let the election officials know if you have any questions about the election process!
